The cairn of Gavrinis is a jewel of prehistory, often called "the Sistine of the Neolithic". Located on the island of Gavrinis, different types of tours are offered to share this precious heritage, from the port of Larmor-Baden or other ports.
For conservation reasons, but also for your comfort, the Gavrinis cairn can be visited in a small group and only as part of guided tours.

Classic tour
The classic tour departs from the port of Larmor-Baden.
You will board the boat of the Passeur des îles. The crossing to the island of Gavrinis takes about 15 min. This crossing is an opportunity to contemplate the landscape and listen to the comments given on the natural and marine environment of the Gulf of Morbihan.
The guide will then accompany you from the hold to the cairn of Gavrinis for a 90-minute guided tour, during which you will discover the landscape and its evolution since the Neolithic era, the first human societies and their stone architectures… as well as the interior of the monument, richly decorated with engraved slabs. The return crossing takes about 15 min.

NEW in 2026 : The « Dernières lueurs » visit in may and june, tuesday to sunday at 5pm. It lasts 1h30min and includes the Er Lannic island!
At the end of the visit, the Passeur des îles will take you back to the port of Larmor-Baden where you will find sanitary facilities, a food truck (in season), a shop, restaurants …

Circuit Er Lannic
The Er Lannic circuit departs from the port of Larmor-Baden. It offers the twin visit of the cairn of Gavrinis and the commented bypass of the double meglithic enclosure of Er Lannic.

Tour from Vannes
The cruise tour from Vannes offers escape, nature and culture! It is offered every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday during the summer holidays.
Wednesdays and Saturdays: departure at 10:30 am
Sundays: departure at 11:45 am
You can embark alone or with your loved ones from the Vannes ferry terminal for a 1-hour cruise in the company of a guide-lecturer, who will then take you to visit, for 1 hour, the cairn of Gavrinis before a stopover on the port of Larmor-Baden where you can buy your picnic, discover our reception-shop area … before leaving for 1 hour of cruise on the Gulf of Morbihan.

In the summer season, every day (except Wednesdays and Saturdays), you can from Locmariaquer reach the island of Gavrinis and visit its cairn by embarking with the Shipping Company “Le Passeur des îles”.

Visit from Île aux Moines/Port Blanc
Embark from Ile-aux-Moines to the Gavrinis cairn every Monday during the summer season:
Departure at 11:15 am from the port of Île aux Moines in the company of a guide-lecturer to start the tour on board the boat. Arrival at Gavrinis and visit of the monument. Stopover in Larmor-Baden to take advantage of the facilities (toilets, shops, restaurant/picnic area, etc.). Return from the port of Larmor-Baden and arrival at Ile-aux-Moines.

Prepare your visit
The visits are also made thanks to a fun route via the Baludik application, free and downloadable on your phone. Young and old will be able to discover the cairn of Gavrinis in the company of Fanch, Lili, Zach and Pitchou! Puzzles and games are on the program… You will be able to see what is not visible.
